City Implements New Safety Patrols in Local Parks

The city has announced the launch of new safety patrols in local parks to enhance community safety and ensure a secure environment for residents and visitors. This initiative is set to begin on January 1, 2026, and aims to provide an increased police presence during peak park hours.

The safety patrols will operate from 3 PM to 10 PM on weekdays and 11 AM to 10 PM on weekends. Officers will engage with community members, address concerns, and respond quickly to incidents. City officials emphasized the importance of these patrols in fostering a safe atmosphere for recreational activities.

The local police department will manage the safety patrols with assistance from community volunteers. The program is a response to recent feedback from residents who expressed a need for greater security in recreational spaces, particularly during evening hours.

Similar safety patrol initiatives have been adopted in neighboring towns, leading to a reported decrease in incidents. The city believes that this proactive approach will enhance public confidence in using park facilities and participating in community events.

Residents are encouraged to participate in a community meeting on December 29, 2025, at the community center to learn more about the safety patrols and voice any concerns. For additional information, contact the city’s park department.
