The city has introduced new neighborhood patrols aimed at improving community safety. These patrols will begin on January 10, 2026, throughout various districts.
The initiative is designed to foster safer environments by increasing visibility and deterring potential criminal activities. Patrols will consist of trained volunteers and local law enforcement officers working collaboratively.
Participating agencies include the City Police Department and the Neighborhood Watch Association, both of which are providing resources and training for the patrol members. This program is a response to concerns raised in community meetings over the past year.
Previous safety initiatives, such as the Community Safety Forum, have highlighted the need for increased patrols in response to local crime trends. City officials believe these neighborhood patrols will strengthen community ties and contribute to overall public safety.
Residents interested in joining the patrols or learning more about the program can attend an informational meeting scheduled for December 20, 2025, at the Community Center. Registration details will be provided at the meeting.
